WEEK ONE

This week has been more than crazy! i dont even know where to begin!

I am currently staying at New Tribes Missions Guest House...they have a wonderful ministry here that provides a great place to stay for missionaries who are either coming in or going or just here for supplies before they make the days treks to their villages a few islands away. I have my own little room and an AC that i am in fact taking advantage of while i have it!

This city is so full of life. there is very few dull moments and very few quiet ones...that is for sure. The pollution is unbelievable...and i have yet to see a clean part of town. But i am on the search...

This week has been orientation and getting around the city...definitely a challenge!! i thought getting around in minneapolis was hard....boy was i wrong. we get around on things called jeepneys...an old WW2 idea...old jeep parts put together. They are all over the city going in every direction. you hop on, pay, enjoy a short ride and when you see your stop you say "para po" stop sir. pretty simple. but then you add in motorcycles, trains, tricycles, cars, buses, bikes, and lots and lots of people...well it gets complicated.

We have been hearing more and more about our different ministry opportunities that we will have and i think that my two team mates and i are getting very excited. we will get to see many different ministries all around and outside of the manila area!!

I have arrived!!!

Greetings to all! i have made it finally to Manila! yaya! i arrived Tuesday around 11:30 am. i successfully made it through immigration and customs...which i was a little scared about. but i survived. it is extremely warm here...some would say Hot...and i would agree. its super toasty and it is a busy crazy high energy city!!! i hope to be able to share some exciting news with you soon...but as for now...the most exciting thing is i am still alive after 17 hours in the air....and triple that in airports....God is good.

my organization is out of controle...and in a bad way!

Plane ticket has been bought and i have reached my financial goal. PRAISE GOD! i just had a freak out moment when i couldnt find the debit card i am supposed to use while i am over there...and after much rummaging around up in the cold crawl space...the prodigal card has returned. whew!!! Its amazing all the little things that have to happen now...i am currently packing...and re-packing...because for some reason...that works best for me...dont ask why. i have two bags instead of one overly stuffed one. which means i will have about three....i tried really hard to only have two. no such luck. its just a funny picture to me... little me...5 foot 1...with a big backback which has my computer and camera in it...and two rolling duffle bags...oh my! a girl can never simplify. but i tried. anyways. i am off soon....i am leaving my little home in Telluride on thursday and then i will be leaving the country midnight sunday. Lord Help me!
